Italian Cultural Institute Scholarship Awarded
The mission of the Italian Cultural Institute is to celebrate and share Italy’s unique history and culture through educational programs and events for the community.
The Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville (ICI) is proud to award a $2,500 scholarship grant to Benjamin Siegel as part of the annual ICI Scholarship and Arts Grant Program. Siegel will apply the grant toward an Italian immersion program in Florence, Italy, in 2012 to further pursue his studies of Dante.
Siegel is 4.0 Honors Program student at Bellarmine University, Louisville, KY, with a major in political science. He is currently writing a senior research thesis on the political thought of Dante and has immersed himself in Italian language courses at Bellarmine.
The Italian Cultural Institute offers yearly scholarship grants to artisans and students of Italian thought, culture and the arts. Award recipients are encouraged to further their Italian studies in the United States and abroad.
Following graduation from Bellarmine, Siegel will study International Law and plans to pursue his career in Italy, his mother’s homeland.
ICI’s Scholarship/Grant Program and the events programming are supported by the annual fund-raising gala, “Italy Under the Stars.”
The Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville (ICI), formed in 2004, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community based organization committed to the mission of celebrating and sharing Italy’s unique history and culture through educational programs and events.
