The mission of the Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville, Kentucky (Istituto Culturale Italiano) is to celebrate and share Italy's unique history and culture with the community through educational programs and events.

We wish to bring together italophiles and those who desire to learn more about Italy and its rich cultural heritage. We interpret the word 'culture' in the broadest sense to encompass the fine arts, literature, music, film, design and manufacturing, food and wine, and daily life in a contemporary context. Our emphasis is on activities which can be enjoyed by all, but which always have an educational focus. We invite you to join us in exploring with us both the old and the new in the Italian cultural and social landscape.

The Board of Directors of the Italian Cultural Institute is proud to report that during the past year ICI has met the mission goals in several areas:

• Two artisan scholarships granted in 2010 for study in Italy
• Successful sold-out 2010
• Palio Under the Stars fund-raiser
• Produced a major seminar series on Galileo and Marco Polo
• Initiated a college level Italian language program
• Three Cucina Italiana cooking demonstrations
• Nine conversation group meetings to perfect Italian with Salotto di Clara
• Nine Biblioteca Italiana book club sessions
• Acclaimed annual film series
• Carnevale, the annual Mardi Gras salute to members.
